Metro: Woman tried to steal toddler on Orange Line train

WASHINGTON — A woman riding an Orange Line train tried to snatch a toddler right out of her stroller Wednesday morning, Metro says.

The woman is said to have tried to pull a 2-year-old girl from her straps as the train approached Foggy Bottom just after 9:30.

Metro says another passenger stepped in to stop the woman and hold her down until police arrived.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody.

Train riders described seeing the woman talking to herself before attempting to take the toddler.
