Plane makes emergency landing at Md. airport

WASHINGTON — A plane had to make an emergency landing at Tipton Airport in Fort Meade, Maryland, on Wednesday morning. Airport spokeswoman Shannon Walker says that it happened around 9:30 a.m., when the landing gear on the single-engine plane didn’t work. The plane landed on its belly and slid off the runway. Only the pilot was on the plane; no one was hurt.
