WASHINGTON — Is there ever a perfect time to get married? Probably not. It’s a huge undertaking and building a life with someone can be hard work. However, a new analysis points to the best age to tie the knot.

People should get married between the ages of 25 and 34, according to an analysis by professor Nicholas Wolfinger. The University of Utah professor looked at data from the National Survey of Family Growth in his analysis.

Couples are waiting until they can afford to get married — which, these days, is between 27 and 29, Wolfinger says. Those people are approaching marriage responsibly, which means they’re most likely to succeed, Vox points out.

However, Philip Cohen, a sociology professor at the University of Maryland, said getting married later in life still reduces the chance of divorce.

Wolfinger insists those who get married later in life have increased chance for adultery and have trouble with interpersonal relationships.

Vox points out that marriage is what you make it, so don’t be alarmed by this analysis. Numbers don’t matter if you tie the knot for the right reasons.
