WASHINGTON — Two local motorcyclists were killed, while four others were injured after a semi-truck ran off a North Carolina road Saturday morning.

The motorcyclists from the Maryland and Virginia Black Eagle Ryders club were headed to a rally in Atlanta when another biker had trouble with his vehicle. The group stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 85 in Guildford County, North Carolina when a semi-truck ran off the road and hit all six bikers, NBC 4 reports.

Arnie Morris of Woodbridge, Virginia was killed instantly Saturday and Kenneth Jefferson of Chesterfield, Virginia died Sunday.

The truck driver David Serna and co-driver Jacob Salazar of Florida drove off, but a flat tire stopped them.

According to North Carolina police, the drivers were not impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Serna was charged with felony hit and run. Investigators say Serna may have fallen asleep.
