UPDATE 7:09 a.m. 7/4/2015: Anne Arundel County Fire spokesman Captain Russ Davies tells WTOP  the water main break was fixed Friday night. However, they’re still working to replace the lost water in the hydrants, and the fire department will treat the area as if it’s low on water.

Furthermore, the spokesman said some 1.5 million gallons of water were lost in the Friday break, so it will take some time  to get the pressure back up to normal.

EARLIER: WASHINGTON — WTOP has received several calls from Anne Arundel County residents who say they still don’t have water following a Friday morning water main break in the woods near the intersection of  Lost Creek Boulevard and Bayou Bend Boulevard in Laurel near the Little Patuxent River.

About 30,000 water customers in Laurel, Russett and Maryland City communities were without water throughout the day, but officials said they could begin to use water starting at 6:30 p.m., running their taps for five minutes first.

The section of pipe that broke is 40 feet long. As a result,  the county has  set up two water fill-up stations for drinking water, located at the Home Depot at Md.  198 and Md.  197 near the Jessup Elevated Water Storage Tank in the 7800 block of Brock Bridge Road.
