Collision sends motorcycle crashing into Alexandria church daycare

WASHINGTON — Several children and a biker were hurt Tuesday when a motorcycle crashed through the window of an Alexandria, Virginia church daycare.

The motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of Quaker Lane and Dogwood Drive, sending the motorcycle through a window at St. Clement Church, according to Alexandria Police. The motorcycle crashed into a classroom, and some children inside were hit by broken glass.

Rev. John Hortum told NBC Washington the biker slammed to the ground outside the church.

“His machine came right through the window, the majority of it, right over the heads of little children and their teacher,” Hortum told NBC Washington.

Alexandria Police say the biker is in critical condition, and several children suffered minor injuries.

No additional information has been released at this time.
