Tips for how to avoid ‘Sunday night blues’

WASHINGTON — Are you wasting your Sundays thinking about how much you dread the work to come on Mondays?

It’s time to take back the last half of your precious weekend.

A recent poll by Monster.com finds 76 percent of Americans say they have really bad “Sunday night blues,” compared to just 42 percent of Europeans questioned.

Monster put together some ideas to help you better enjoy your Sundays.

Here are a few:

  • Try not to check work email on Sundays. If you must check it, set a limit on how much time you’ll spend doing it.
  • Take time to think about why you dread the start of the work week. Is it your commute or your boss? That will help you hone in on the problem and resolve it.
  • Make plans to do something nice for yourself on Sunday nights, or get together with friends or family members.
