Police: Rabies risk in Fairfax County neighborhood

WASHINGTON — Animal Control officers are letting a Fairfax County neighborhood know about a rabies risk in the area Thursday.

Officers are handing out rabies information to residents in the Rose Hill area after a dog was bitten by a rabid fox in the 4400 block of Upland Drive last week.

The dog was vaccinated and there were no other exposures to the fox, Fairfax County police say.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
