WASHINGTON — Have a teacher who helped you learn or gave you direction? Tuesday is a day to offer thanks because it’s National Teacher Appreciation Day. WTOP took to Twitter to ask people about some the teachers who deserve a pat on the back.

The National Education Association and the National PTA are selecting 10 random people thanking a teacher using #ThankATeacher on social media to receive a $100 Visa gift card to give to their favorite teacher for supplies.
