Rockville daycare owner charged with shaking baby

WASHINGTON — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Special Victims Investigations Division are investigating a child abuse case that occurred in Rockville, Maryland.

On Jan. 5, 2015, officers from the 4th District and Montgomery County Fire-Rescue Personnel responded to 5402 Parkvale Terrace in Rockville for a 9-month-old baby who was not breathing.  The baby at the time was being cared for by My Angel and Me Daycare run by Ana Valentin.

The baby was transported to Children’s Hospital for treatment.  According to medical personnel, injuries consistent with shaking a baby and child abuse were evident.

On March 18, Valentin was arrested charged with first degree and second degree child abuse.  She has posted a bond and is awaiting a preliminary hearing date.
