Man has seizure, loses consciousness during sky dive (Video)

WASHINGTON — A man has his sky diving instructor that thank for his safety after he suffered a seizure and lost consciousness mid-jump.

Christopher Jones had a seizure while sky diving on Nov. 14, 2014, and spent about 30 seconds in an unconscious free fall about thousands of feet above Australia. That’s when instructor Sheldon McFarlane, the jumpmaster for the sky diving event, came to his rescue and pulled his ripcord.

A video of Jones’ near-death experience is going viral online with nearly 4 million views since its Sunday posting.

In the video, it shows Jones convulsing and another sky diver — McFarlane — attempting to grab him.

“At around 9,000 [feet], I have a seizure while attempting a left-hand turn,” Jones says in the YouTube post.

Jones became conscious at about 3,000 feet and safely managed to land the parachute, according to a note at the end of the video.
