WASHINGTON — A day after reports of smoke caused a stir near two Metro stations in D.C., a similar issue occurred Sunday at L’Enfant Plaza — the same station in which a woman died in January after smoke filled a train.

Tim Wilson, a spokesman with the D.C. fire department, says the smoke came from one of the train’s brakes. As a result, there could be some delays on the Green Line.

On Saturday, the Woodley Park Metro station was evacuated after brake friction from a train. A Metro spokeswoman told ABC 7 that the train had a mechanical problem and it was offloaded. Wilson said there weren’t any injuries.

Then on Saturday night, firefighters responded to a report of smoke and fire on a track near the Foggy Bottom station. That incident stemmed from an insulator problem, according to Metro.

No injuries were reported.
