Washington state proved the juggernaut, however, sweeping the categories with the University of Washington (72) taking the top spot among large schools; Western Washington University (47) taking the medium category and Gonzaga University (20) the small. The University of California-Berkeley has the top spot in the all-time count, with 3,598 since 1961.

The Peace Corps says that 2014 applications were at their highest level in 22 years.
