‘American Sniper’ hustles audiences with fake baby

WASHINGTON — It may be called “American Sniper,” but audiences just got American hustled — with a fake baby. [related_gallery align=”right”]

Granted, it’s a minor flaw in an otherwise great movie, nominated for six Oscars,  including Best Picture and Best Actor (Bradley Cooper).

But it’s fun fodder just days after the film’s record $105.3 million release over the four-day Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.

Screenwriter Jason Hall, who’s nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, tweeted the reason why director Clint Eastwood used the prop baby:

“Hate to ruin the fun but real baby #1 showed up with a fever. Real baby #2 was no show. (Clint voice) Gimme the doll, kid.”

Did you notice the fake baby when you initially watched “American Sniper?”

If not, now you will.

Thanks, internet.
