Home invasion, armed robbery reported in UMd College Park area

WASHINGTON — It was a dangerous Sunday night in College Park near the University of Maryland.

Around 9 p.m., a student reported to the Prince George’s County police that three men walked into his off-campus home on Potomac Avenue, just south of Berwyn Road, pointed a gun at his face and demanded property.

The student was able to escape, but police could not find the suspects.

Several hours later, a gunman robbed a nearby pizza shop on Baltimore Avenue. Police say that suspect has not been caught, and they advise people to avoid the area. It’s not clear whether the two incidents are connected.
