FlightCar offers way to get free parking at Dulles

WASHINGTON — A new ride-sharing service called FlightCar offers a free
parking at Dulles International Airport, starting Wednesday, but it comes with
a
catch: You have to be willing to rent your car to another driver while you’re
away.

Here’s how it works: If you let FlightCar rent your vehicle to a pre-screened
driver, you get free parking, a Town Car ride to the airport, a car wash and
per-mile payment if your car is rented.

The vehicle-sharing company expanded to Dulles this week. It now operates at
more than half a dozen airports across the country.

FlightCar provides $1,000,000 in liability coverage and also promises to cover
any mechanical damage.

For now, it’s operating from the Comfort Inn near the airport.

The idea is similar to RelayRides, which has been around the area since 2012.
