The Associated Press

Timeline in the abduction of a woman from a Philadelphia street, and her rescue three days later in Maryland, based on FBI affidavit:

__

NOV. 2, 9:40 p.m.: Nursing assistant Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, 22, is grabbed while walking along a Philadelphia street, and struggles to break free before being forced into what appears to be a gray Ford Taurus, apparently kicking out a rear window before the car speeds away.

NOV 3, 6:01 a.m.: Victim’s bank card is used at a bank machine in Aberdeen, Maryland. First transaction is unsuccessful; second one goes through for $20. Surveillance video captures dark, grainy pictures of a man. Minutes later, surveillance video shows man fitting the same description making a purchase in a gas station mini-mart. A receipt shows he bought Herr’s Sour Cream and Onion potato chips, a bottle of water and two other grocery items, paying with a $20 bill.

NOV. 3, 8 a.m.: A woman in Havre de Grace, Maryland, finds items in her driveway, including a cut zip-tie, a stretched out key chain ring, candy wrappers, a Herr’s Sour Cream and Onion potato chips wrapper and a receipt from an ACME supermarket in Philadelphia, with a transaction time and date of 1:40 p.m., Nov. 2.

NOV. 4, 7 p.m.: Woman who found the items in her driveway reports her discovery to law enforcement. Video footage from the Philadelphia supermarket shows a man matching the description of the person at the bank machine and mini-mart.

NO DATE: Investigators from the Charles City County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia examine surveillance photos, conclude man likely is Delvin Barnes, 37. The office had obtained a warrant Oct. 28 for his arrest on kidnapping, rape and other charges. They determine a gray Ford Taurus is registered to him.

NOV 5: Ford Taurus registered to Barnes is located in Jessup, Maryland. Barnes is found lying in the backseat, next to the victim. The rear passenger window is missing and covered by pieces of plastic. The FBI says Barnes admits to abducting the woman, and told them he didn’t know his victim.

Summer McIntosh storms to Pan Pacs 400 IM title, rebounding from 200 free runner-up finish

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Summer McIntosh of Canada led all the way in winning the 400-meter individual medley at the Pan Pacific Championships on Thursday night, bouncing back after a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle. Australia led all but 150 meters of the women's 4 x 200 freestyle relay, with the team of Inez Miller, Lani Pallister, Hannah Casey and Milla Jansen winning in 7 minutes, 42.40 seconds to lower the country's championship mark of 7:44.12 set at the 2018 Pan Pacs. Katie Ledecky swam the anchor leg for the U.S., but couldn't overhaul Jansen although she got within a body length in the closing meters. Erin Gemmell, Anna Peplowski, Rylee Erisman and Ledecky took silver in 7:43.10, also going under the old championship mark. “I've kind of struggled with the 200 individually from a flat start over the last couple years, but I always know I'll have something in me for the relay and I'll pull out a good split,” Ledecky said. “I love swimming that anchor leg.”
