JFK Library exhibit galleries temporarily closing

BOSTON (AP) — Visitors to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum won’t have access to the main exhibit galleries early next year.

The JFK Library, located next to the University of Massachusetts-Boston campus, said Thursday that the main galleries will be closed from Jan. 2, 2015, through mid-March for technology and design upgrades.

The library said the work will include the creation of an “interactive, dynamic experience” for visitors.

A special exhibit, “To the Brink: JFK and the Cuban Missile Crisis,” will remain open along with the research room, cafe and museum store. The library said it won’t charge admission during the temporary closure of the exhibit galleries.
