Titans place tight end Thompson on injured reserve

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have lost their second tight end for the season, placing Taylor Thompson on injured reserve because of a right knee that kept him out of the past five games.

The Titans announced the move Wednesday.

Tennessee placed Craig Stevens on injured reserve Oct. 18. Thompson, in his third season, started the opener and had two catches for 24 yards before hurting his right knee.

The Titans replaced Thompson by signing Brett Brackett back to the roster off Seattle’s practice squad. The 6-foot-5, 246 pound Brackett first signed with the Titans’ practice squad Sept. 9 and played against Jacksonville and at Washington before being waived. He played in one game for Seattle before being waived and then signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

Tennessee plays at Baltimore on Sunday.
