National Cathedral to honor veterans with concert

WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington National Cathedral is planning a special tribute to veterans with a concert this week ahead of Veterans Day.

The concert Friday will feature the U.S. Marine Corps Orchestra, National Cathedral Singers and readings from American war letters during conflicts from the past 100 years.

The cathedral is working with the Center for American War Letters at Chapman University to feature war correspondence from past conflicts ranging from the Revolutionary War to emails sent from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The concert is free and open to the public Friday at 7 p.m. No tickets are required.
