Md. man arrested for attempted kidnapping, indecent exposure

WASHINGTON — A man is under arrest after a mother and baby were confronted by a stranger at a playground in Silver Spring Wednesday evening.

Maryland-National Capital Park Police say a woman and her infant were approached by a man at a playground in the area of Sligo Creek Parkway and Edgevale Road.

The woman was holding the child in her arms and the man demanded she give him the baby. She used her stroller to try to keep him away, but the man pulled it away from her.

At that point, two other people got involved and chased him away.

After that, police say the man made his way to the area of Colesville Road where he exposed himself to two other people.

He was arrested for attempted kidnapping and indecent exposure.

Earlier, Montgomery County Police got a call from a dentist’s office on Colesville Road reporting a man acting strangely. That man fit the description of the man involved in the other two incidents.
