CityCenterDC lands Fig & Olive restaurant, retailers David Yurman and Caudalie

The latest culinary coup for CityCenterDC: Fig & Olive, the Mediterranean restaurant from French chef Pascal Lorange, will join the development in 2015.

The restaurant will join high-profile dining spots such as DBGB Kitchen and Bar from Daniel Boulud, Momofuku from David Chang and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse.

Born and raised in the south of France, Lorange trained in his native country and Spain, serving as personal chef to pop star Julio Iglesias, according to his website. The first Fig & Olive opened in New York in 2005; now there are three locations in New York City, one in Scarsdale, New York, two in California and one in Chicago. The first opened in 2005.

The CityCenterDC location will be located in more than 9,000 square feet on two levels facing Eye Street NW across the plaza from Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. Papadopoulos Properties in conjunction with R.K. Futterman and Associates out of Los Angeles represented the tenant.

The Fig & Olive announcement came in a larger retail announcement from notoriously tight-lipped CityCenterDC outlining retail tenants that are either already open or that we’ve reported in the past: Louis Vuitton, Hermes, CH Carolina Herrera and, as we just mentioned yesterday, Arc’Teryx, among others.

A couple of new names were in the mix as well: jeweler David Yurman and Caudalie Boutique, a high-end personal care boutique and spa.
