Naval Academy dorm now bedbug-free

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Naval Academy’s only dorm is now bedbug free.

Officials say midshipmen were allowed to return to the 34 rooms at Bancroft Hall last week after the rooms were sealed and fumigated. Bedbug-sniffing dogs checked the rooms to make sure the bloodsuckers were gone.

Academy spokesman Cmdr. John Schofield tells The Capital of Annapolis (http://bit.ly/1vEUKyw ) that the discovery of the bedbugs in September coincided with midshipmen’s from summer activities.

Bancroft Hall has some 1,800 rooms.
