Prince George’s police officer suspended for DUI

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police say an officer has been suspended after she was charged with driving under the influence this weekend.

County police say Cpl. Miriam Perez was off duty when she was charged Saturday by Maryland State Police. Perez was an eight-year veteran of the police department and was assigned to the patrol division.

The department says it is investigating the incident. Perez was suspended with pay, pending an administrative hearing.

A telephone message left at a listing for Perez was not immediately returned.
