Late TD passes rally Stetson past Campbell 28-24

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Ryan Tentler threw touchdown passes of 80 and 37 yards late in the game as Stetson rallied past Campbell 28-24 on Saturday, putting a dent in Campbell’s Pioneer League title hopes.

Tentler completed 13 of 24 passes for 245 yards with three scores as Stetson (4-4, 2-3) won its second straight. Campbell (4-5, 4-2), which had two apparent touchdowns called back, lost its second straight in Pioneer play. The Fighting Camels extended their lead to 24-14 early in the third quarter on Mitchell Brown’s 23-yard field goal.

Tentler, with 36 seconds left in the third, hooked up on an 80-yarder on first-down to Kegan Moore, closing to 24-21. Campbell’s Isaiah Howard returned the ensuing kickoff to the end zone, but the score was called back for holding.

Tentler connected with Rob Coggin for the game-winner on a 37-yard, fourth-down pass with 4:03 to play.
