Indiana State edges Missouri State 20-18

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Eric Heidorn kicked the winning field goal with 26 seconds to play as Indiana State edged Missouri State 20-18 on Saturday.

Heidorn’s winning kick was from 38 yards. He also had a 30-yard field goal to give the Sycamores (6-3, 3-2 Missouri Valley Football Conference) a 17-15 lead with 2:06 remaining.

Marcelo Bonani put the Bears (4-5, 1-4) ahead 18-17 with a 41-yard field goal with under a minute left in the fourth. Following the score, Shelby Harris’ kickoff went just 35 yards and the Sycamores’ Aaron Killebrew returned it 32 yards to the Bears’ 38-yard line.

Heidorn’s winning field goal came five plays into the Sycamores’ final drive after Mike Perish got them in scoring range on passes to Kyani Harris and Chris O’Leary.

Perish had 144 yards passing and a touchdown. LeMonte Booker ran for 116 yards.

Kierra Harris had 159 yards passing and a touchdown for the Bears.
