Cardinals elevate RB Williams from practice squad

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have elevated running back Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad and released defensive tackle Bruce Gaston.

Williams has been on the practice squad since signing with the Cardinals on Sept. 18. The former Utah State back was released by the San Diego Chargers on Aug. 25.

The move comes with running back Stepfan Taylor out two to four weeks with a calf injury. Arizona has three other backs on the 53-man roster — Andre Ellington, Robert Hughes and Marion Grice.
