Md. man gets 15 years in cellphone store robbery

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — A Prince George’s County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison in the armed robbery of a cellphone store.

Prosecutors say 25-year-old Alexander Bailey of Oxon Hill was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Greenbelt after he pleaded guilty in the case.

Prosecutors say Bailey walked into an Oxon Hill cellphone store on July 3 last year, brandished a gun and ordered everyone to the floor. They say he poked one employee with the gun, grabbed a store manager and demanded to be given money from the cash register.

Prosecutors say the store employee gave Bailey $302 and that Bailey then fled. He was arrested a short time later after a short chase. He had $302 on him.
