Wal-Mart apologizes for ‘fat girl costumes’ on website

WASHINGTON — With Halloween just a few days away, Wal-Mart is drawing criticism after online shoppers spotted a section labeled “Fat Girl Costumes.”

The section was made up of costumes that would typically be found in Wal-Mart’s plus-size women’s section.

The label remained on the company’s website for a large part of Monday morning, CNN reports. It was later removed, and Wal-Mart tweeted apologies to customers voicing their complaints.
