Caballero beats Hall to win IBF bantamweight title

MONACO (AP) — Randy Caballero of the United States improved to 22-0 after beating Stuart Hall of Britain in a unanimous decision Saturday to win the vacant IBF bantamweight title.

Ring-side judges scored the bout 116-111, 116-111, 118-110 in favor of the 24-year-old Caballero after an aggressive contest where both boxers landed heavy punches.

The 34-year-old Hall recovered from a second-round knockdown but is now winless in three fights, having lost to Paul Butler in June and drawn with Martin Ward — both countrymen — in March. He fell to 16-4-2, with 7 knockouts.

Rising star Caballero has 13 knockouts so far in his career.
