Washington Wizards volunteering at food bank

WASHINGTON (AP) — The coach of the Washington Wizards and several players will be volunteering at a local food bank.

The Wizards say coach Randy Wittman and seven players will volunteer Friday at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington. The group will help pack bags for the food bank’s “Weekend Bag Program,” which provides food for some 2,000 children over the weekend when they don’t get meals at school.

The Wizards say the players who will participate are: Dejuan Blair, Bradley Beal, Marcin Gortat, Kris Humphries, Glen Rice, Garrett Temple and Martell Webster. They’ll be joined by Wizard cheerleaders and the team’s mascot, G-Wiz.
