Video released in Md. postal worker’s killing

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police have released surveillance video to help solve the cold-case killing of a U.S. Postal worker shot dead while delivering mail just before Thanksgiving last year.

The video shows a Jeep Grand Cherokee racing through the area where 26-year-old Tyson Barnette of Upper Marlboro was killed Nov. 23 in Landover. Barnette was found fatally shot in a residential neighborhood shortly after 7 p.m. that night.

Prince George’s County police say the case has gone cold. A reward of up to $125,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.

The U.S. Postal Service says Barnette worked for the agency for six years and that killings of active-duty postal workers are rare.

Anyone with information is asked to call 301-772-4925.
