Va. businesses honored for disability employment

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Amazon.com’s area fulfillment center and other businesses are being honored for their work to support disability employment.

The Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services says the businesses will be honored next week for their commitment to hiring and supporting people with disabilities in the workplace.

The ceremony is part of a series of events across Virginia in celebration of October as Disability Employment Awareness Month.

The state Division of Rehabilitative Services offers vocational rehabilitation to help people with disabilities to prepare for, secure, retain or regain employment.
