Titans sign tight end with Ayers’ trade finalized

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have signed tight end Richard Gordon, filling the roster spot freed up by trading linebacker Akeem Ayers to the Patriots.

The Titans announced the moves Wednesday, saying only that Ayers was traded for a future draft selection. They also agreed to terms with linebacker Nate Askew and wide receiver Derek Moye to the practice squad.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Gordon has played 29 career games over three seasons with Oakland and Kansas City. A sixth-round draft pick out of Miami in 2011, Gordon spent his first two seasons in Oakland. The Titans placed tight end Craig Stevens on injured reserve last week.
