Substitute DC teacher arrested on sex charge

WASHINGTON (AP) — A substitute teacher in the District of Columbia has been arrested on charges of having sex with a student on her first day at the school.

Court documents say 22-year-old Symone Greene performed a sex act on a 17-year-old junior inside a classroom at Options Public Charter School in Northeast on Friday. Court documents say the student, an office assistant in the classroom, recorded the encounter on a cellphone and shared the video with his football teammates and a friend.

It’s unclear whether Greene has an attorney. She’s charged with first-degree sexual assault against a minor.

The school principal tells WRC-TV that Greene was contracted through a Delaware-based company and that the sex act occurred on her first day at the school.
