Metro to open early for the Marine Corps Marathon

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro will open two hours early Sunday to help riders traveling to the Marine Corps Marathon.

Metro says it will open at 5 a.m. on the day of the race.

Metro says riders traveling on the orange, silver, blue, yellow and green lines will find trains operating at regular weekend intervals. The Greenbelt station on the green line will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, however. And on Saturday at the orange line’s Landover and New Carrollton stations only, trains will arrive and depart every 20 to 25 minutes during the day.

On the red line, trains will operate every 24 minutes from 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. There will be additional trains between Medical Center and NoMa-Gallaudet on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
