Blackwater jurors granted request to watch video

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jurors deliberating the fate of four former Blackwater security guards in the shootings of more than 30 Iraqi citizens were granted a request to watch a videotape showing the aftermath of the violence.

Monday was the 25th day of deliberations by the jury of eight women and four men. They asked to see the tape, which had been shown during the trial.

It shows the inside of a car heavily damaged by machine gun fire and exploded grenades, the burned remains of two victims in the car and damage to several other vehicles that were fired on.

The trial, which began June 17, focused on the killings of 14 Iraqis and the wounding of 17 seven years ago in Baghdad’s Nisoor Square. Jury deliberations began on Sept. 2.
