Richard Petty Motorsports moving operations

TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) — Richard Petty Motorsports is moving its race operations to another North Carolina location.

The team announced Sunday that it will relocate from Concord to Mooresville after the current NASCAR season.

The new location was home to co-owner Richard Petty’s race teams in 2007 and 2008.

It will have more space than the current shop, leaving room for expansion. It will also provide room for the team to prepare the car and more space for engineering and simulation.

Petty says the new site is “familiar to us and we know it gives our employees the tools they need to prepare our cars to win.”

It will house RPM’s two NASCAR Sprint Cup race teams featuring drivers Aric Almirola and Sam Hornish Jr., who joins RPM next season.
