Authorities: Md. murder suspect heading to Mexico

BALTIMORE (AP) — Authorities say a man suspected of stabbing a woman to death in her apartment in Baltimore could be in Mexico.

WJZ reports (http://cbsloc.al/1y7LqWQ ) that investigators believe 29-year-old Juan Morales, who is a suspect in the fatal stabbing of 40-year-old Claudia Parodi, may be heading to Mexico.

Authorities say Morales, who also goes by Jose Lopez, lived with Parodi in the Fells Point apartment where she was killed.

In recent court filings investigators say Morales fled the state of Maryland after Parodi was killed. Authorities say they believe Morales was most recently in Texas but that his final destination is likely Mexico.

Federal prosecutors have charged Morales with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
