UMass defeats Eastern Michigan 36-14

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) — Shadrach Abrokwah had four rushing touchdowns to lead Massachusetts to a 36-14 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday.

UMass scored the final 16 points to pull away. Abrokwah’s 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter extended the Minutemen’s lead to 27-14.

Abrokwah ran 24 times for 135 yards and Blake Frohnapfel threw for 337 yards for UMass (2-6, 2-2 MAC). Abrokwah had scoring plays of 17, 16 and two 4-yard runs. UMass outgained Eastern Michigan 562 yards to 280 in total offense.

Bronson Hill caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Reginald Bell Jr. to bring Eastern Michigan (2-5, 1-2) within 20-14 at 8:32 in the third.

Bell Jr. was 10 of 21 for 147 yards and two touchdowns for Eastern Michigan. The Eagles were hurt by three turnovers, two lost fumbles and one interception.
