Sacred Heart beats Duquesne 23-20 in comeback

PITTSBURGH (AP) — RJ Noel ran for one score and threw for two more, including a 12-yard TD pass to Tyler Dube with 23 seconds to play Saturday to give Sacred Heart a 23-20 comeback win over Duquesne.

Up 20-14 with 3:03 to play, Duquense’s defense made a goal-line stand on their own 5 and seemed to have the game won, but Sacred Heart (6-1, 2-0 Northeast) forced a safety four plays later to make it 20-16, then Noel hit Dube with the game-winner on the Pioneers’ next possession.

Noel was 14 of 28 for 204 yards and an interception. He threw a 22-yard TD pass to Dube for a 7-0 first-quarter lead and ran 67 yards for a score in the third quarter.

Ryan Egolf threw TD passes of 15 and 58 yards to Chris King and 12 yards to Devin Rahming for Duquesne (4-3, 1-1), and finished 17 of 29 for 199 yards and an interception.
