Md. naval air station plans training exercises

PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (AP) — Officials with the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in St. Mary’s County say nearby communities should be aware of noisy training exercises that have been scheduled.

Officials say that pilots at the air station will be training Saturday and that may mean increased noise between 10:30 a.m. and noon and 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Pilots will be doing training exercises that include practicing landing on an aircraft carrier, though a runway will serve as the carrier during practices.
