Panthers Benjamin back to practice, questionable

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Panthers rookie wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has returned to practice, but his status remains questionable for Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Friday that Benjamin remains in the concussion protocol and will need to be cleared by an independent physician Saturday before being allowed to play.

Benjamin leads the Panthers with 416 yards receiving and has four touchdowns.

Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is expected to start against the Packers after missing the last three games because of a sprained knee. Running backs DeAngelo Williams and Fozzy Whittaker, guard Amini Silatoul, cornerback Bene Benwikere and linebacker Chase Blackburn are doubtful.
