New Jersey man sentenced in ‘den of horrors’ case

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A judge has sentenced a New Jersey man who was convicted of sexually assaulting his daughter and stepdaughter in what prosecutors described as a “den of horrors” to 45 years in prison.

The 50-year-old Lindenwold resident was convicted in May of sexual assault and kidnapping.

Prosecutors say the man engaged in sexual violence against his daughter when she was a teenager and his stepdaughter, who was in her early 30s, between 2007 and 2011.

Prosecutors say the women were kept with little exposure to the outside world until they left and reported the abuse to police.

In court Thursday, the daughter told the judge not to show her father any mercy.

The Associated Press generally does not identify sex abuse victims and is not naming the man because doing so could identify the women.
