Jaguars’ Toby Gerhart out again with ankle injury

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jaguars will be without running back Toby Gerhart for a second straight week because of an ankle injury. He missed the previous game in Tennessee and thought he would be ready play Sunday against Cleveland.

He said: “We gave it a week’s rest and this Wednesday the improvement was great and it felt a ton better. But then there was lingering affects the last couple of days, so they thought it best to give it a little more time.”

Gerhart first hurt his ankle in the opener in Philadelphia. He played the next four games but never had more than 10 carries in any game. His season totals are 48 carries for 123 yards and one touchdown.

Also, cornerback Alan Ball and defensive end Andre Branch returned to full practice Friday and will play Sunday.
