WASHINGTON — There are new details in the case of a Georgetown rabbi charged with voyeurism. D.C. police have served search warrants at Rabbi Barry Freundel’s home and at Kesher Israel where he’s accused of recording video of unsuspecting women as they got undressed.

D.C. police who served the warrants concluded Freundel set up a clock with a nanny cam hidden inside it adjacent to the area where women would undress to get in and out of the shower. A memory card inside recorded what was caught on camera.

Police believe the videos were likely backed up and say they were saved under the womens’ first names. In the documents, police say at least six women are captured totally or partially undressed on the videos.

Police were called to Kesher Isreal after an employee, who worked with Freundel for a decade, noticed the rabbi handling the clock which he later noticed was unnecessarily hanging near the changing area.

Police served a search warrant at Freundel’s home Tuesday confiscating, among other things, 20 memory cards, six external hard drives, seven laptops, and five desktop computers.

Freundel is not being held until his next court hearing Nov. 12. The court took his passport so he cannot leave the country.
