Netflix and Baker Hughes are big market movers

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:

Chesapeake Energy Corp., up $3.02 to $20.79

The energy company is selling drilling assets in West Virginia and Pennsylvania to Southwestern Energy Co. for $5.4 billion.

Delta Air Lines Inc., up 94 cents to $33.32

The airline reported a decline in quarterly profit on one-time costs, but the results beat Wall Street expectations.

Baker Hughes Inc., down $1.62 to $52.01

The oilfield services company reported worse-than-expected quarterly results, partly citing global turmoil and reduced activity.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., up 80 cents to $4.50

The media and lifestyle company said Meredith Corp. will take over ad sales and circulation of Martha Stewart Living magazine.

Netflix Inc., down $86.89 to $361.70

Internet video service provider’s subscriber growth fell short of the company’s forecasts after it increased subscription rates.

EBay Inc., down $2.36 to $47.88

The online retailer reported better-than-expected profit but revenue missed expectations and the company cut its sales forecast.

Mattel Inc., down 92 cents to $29.62

The toy company reported a 21.5 percent drop in third-quarter profit and the results fell short of Wall Street expectations.

Extreme Networks, down 70 cents to $3.06

The network infrastructure equipment company warned that its quarterly results will be lower than its previous forecast.
