Man sought for 2 fatal shootings in Va. surrenders

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) — Police in Martinsville say a man sought in connection with two weekend shooting deaths has surrendered.

The Martinsville Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1sXUtL1) reports that 20-year-old Parnell Markese Rucker has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He surrendered Thursday.

Rucker was sought for the slayings of 30-year-old Orlando Akridge of Martinsville and 32-year-old Julius Keon Giggetts, formerly of Martinsville.

Officers found the victims after receiving a report of shots fired Sunday.
