Bus carrying 13 children rolls; minor injuries

RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say a school bus carrying 13 young children and four adults crashed and rolled on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming, but only minor injuries were reported.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Maj. Perry Jones says the bus belonging to Shoshone Arapaho Head Start was headed south on state Highway 132 in Fremont County when it crashed at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday. The bus left the roadway, and the driver overcorrected, causing it to roll.

The children, who are all 1 to 2 years old, were secured in a seat belt/harness, the press release said. Investigators say there were no apparent injuries to the children, who were taken to a Lander hospital as a precaution.

Two of the adults suffered minor injuries.
