Jets activate LB Barnes, release S Bush

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets activated linebacker Antwan Barnes from the physically unable to perform list on Wednesday and released safety Josh Bush.

Barnes was recovering from a knee injury suffered last season and was eligible to begin practicing this week. He’s played seven NFL seasons with Baltimore, Philadelphia, San Diego and the Jets, whom he signed with in 2013. Barnes played in five games last season for New York.

Bush appeared in every game the last two seasons for the Jets, who made him a sixth-round draft pick in 2012. He played in one game this season.
